My dad says he won't let me keep my guinea pigs in my room...?

Because they smell, and their cage takes up too much room. I measured the cage I am getting, and it fits perfectly where I want it to fit! They do NOT smell, I am gonna clean out their cage once a week, and if they do smell under some miracle, then I'll use the Petsmart deodoriser spray. He says I have to keep them in the basement. What!!?? No way!! Please help me!! Tell me some ways to convince my dad to keep my 2 piggies in my room! :0
