How severe is my acl tear?

I tore my acl 3 weeks ago playing baseball. I had an mri done. The doctor evaluated the mri and said I had torn my meniscus and acl. My acl he said had been torn partially. And my meniscus had been torn moderately. He recommeneded surgery but me and my family don't know what to do. We have 2 options to either try to play baseball with a brace, or to have surgery and miss my entire summer or playing ball. I want to get to college ball and I think I have a good shot.
