Should i go to the doctor? help :(?

I have been having pain on the inside of my left knee. I am extremely active (15 yr old female) as I play softball on a club and school team almost year round. I have been thinking that this pain is due to a medial meniscus tear however I don't hear much of a clicking noise, as they say indicates a tear. Sometimes I feel a little grinding and occasional non-painful pops but that it for noises. The joint line along the inside of my knee hurts to touch as it is painful to fully extend or fully bend my knee. Do you think this is a medial meniscus tear? If it were, would surgery be more beneficial to my active lifestyle than long conservative treatment? Thank you for all your help.
