Parents and a New Car?

I am ready for a new car, I have been driving around a 26 year old Mercedes that is literally falling apart. A couple weeks ago the steering arm just fell or while I was going 60 mph. I have saved up a good chunk of money. I am a good kid, good grades and I am always driving my two younger siblings around. It is almost my 17th birthday and i am asking them to pay for part of it. Is that fair? I pay for my own gas and insurance too.
