Normal pain after arthroscopic surgery for a 13 yr. Old?

having had the same surgery( i am a lot older than 13) in 2007, i can appreciate the pain you are in. you are breathing fast because you are in pain -no clot.take the vicodan as often as it says: it will say "as needed for pain" probably but if it says every 4 hours or whatever, take it at that interval. the pain IS normal so don't worry. absolutely drink lots of fluids and eat because the vicodan will make you nauseated if you don't - and if you start to itch from the vicodan, that is normal. BUT if you itch and develop a rash, or have trouble breathing altogether, that is an allergy. but since you have been taking it, that will not probably be the case. take it and try to relax.DO THE EXERCISES- that will help the pain by increasing your movement. i promise, it will be better in a few days. take care.
